World Bank (2024–2025) – Enterprise Survey of Turkmenistan

Scope: National study covering 311 private enterprises. Objective: Assessment of the business environment, barriers to the development of the private sector, and factors of sustainable growth. Description: The company Export Hyzmat conducted the World Bank Enterprise Survey 2024–2025, interviewing representatives of 311 companies across all regions of Turkmenistan. The study was carried out according to the international Enterprise Surveys methodology and includes an assessment of innovation activity, investments in green technologies, and barriers to sustainable business development. Result: The collected data are used by the World Bank to develop recommendations aimed at improving competitiveness and supporting the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable economy within the Business Ready (B-READY) initiative.

UNECE (2025) – Assessment of Regulatory and Procedural Barriers to Trade

Scope: 62 interviews with enterprises from priority export-oriented sectors. Objective: To support Turkmenistan’s accession to the WTO and the transition to a green and circular economy by removing trade barriers and strengthening business sustainability. Description: At the request of the Government of Turkmenistan, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) commissioned Export Hyzmat to conduct in-depth interviews with companies from the agriculture, machinery manufacturing, chemical, textile, and metals industries. The study identifies barriers related to certification, logistics, environmental regulation, and sustainable production practices. Key Results: ● A database of regulatory and procedural barriers, including environmental aspects; ● Case studies of successful ISO certification and the implementation of green standards; ● Preparation of a national report with recommendations on trade facilitation and the promotion of “green exports”; ● Contribution to UNECE initiatives on circular economy and sustainable development. Additional Value: Participating enterprises receive consultations on green finance, export promotion, and international certification (ISO, environmental standards).

EBRD (2025–2026) – “Export 2.0+: Diagnostics, Training and Access to Green Markets”

Scope: Group consulting project – 4 SMEs, 5 training and coaching programs. Objective: To increase export readiness and introduce sustainable business practices among emerging exporters. Description: The project is implemented with the support of the EBRD Advice for Small Businesses (ASB) programme. It combines diagnostics of export and environmental potential, training in digital marketing and sustainable branding, and the search for international partners. Key Results: ● Assessment of export and environmental readiness; ● Individual and group coaching sessions; ● Training on digital exports and green marketing; ● Support for participation in international exhibitions and business meetings. Expected Results: Growth in export performance, integration into international green supply chains, and contribution to the circular transformation of Turkmenistan’s economy.
